Innovative learning refers to an approach that integrates the latest methods and technologies to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. According to Suyanto and Djihad (2012), the goal of innovative learning is to create engaging and relevant learning experiences for students, encouraging their active participation in the process. This approach aims to transform traditional teaching methods into more interactive and participatory ones, thereby improving students' motivation and learning outcomes. Consequently, innovative learning focuses not only on the transfer of knowledge but also on developing students' critical and creative thinking skills.
Innovative
learning is characterized by several key aspects. First, its procedures must be
systematic, with each step in the learning process carefully planned to achieve
desired objectives. Second, it includes clear assessment standards, typically
reflected in positive behavioral changes in students after the learning process
(Quipper, 2021). Furthermore, the learning environment should be conducive to
active interaction between students and teachers. Creating a pleasant and
dynamic learning atmosphere motivates students to engage more actively in
educational activities.
This approach
should also adapt various methods and strategies to suit students' needs.
According to Purwadhi (2019), innovative learning can involve various models
such as problem-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and collaborative
learning. Each model offers a unique approach that helps students understand
the material more comprehensively. For example, problem-based learning exposes
students to real-world situations, prompting them to find creative solutions,
while inquiry-based learning encourages them to seek information actively and
discover answers independently.
The
implementation of innovative learning is essential in today’s educational
context. It not only aids students in understanding subject matter more
effectively but also prepares them to face the challenges of the 21st century.
In a world that is increasingly complex and rapidly changing, the ability to
think critically, collaborate, and adapt to technology is crucial (Sartono
Wahyuari, 2012). Therefore, teachers must continuously develop their skills in
applying innovative teaching methods to provide students with an optimal
learning experience.

METHODOLOGY
A. Type of
Research
This study employs descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Descriptive research aims to provide a clear and in-depth understanding of the phenomenon being studied, while the qualitative approach allows researchers to explore participants' subjective perspectives (Moleong, 2007). The study focuses on collecting narrative and descriptive data to offer deeper insights into the research topic. According to Bogdan and Taylor (2007), qualitative research generates descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words and observed behaviors, enabling a depiction of the social and cultural contexts of the phenomenon.
B. Qualitative
Research Method with a Literature Study Approach
The qualitative
research method in this study utilizes a literature review approach. This
involves collecting and analyzing relevant literature to understand the
concepts and theories underlying the research topic (Marzali, 2017). A
literature review enables researchers to examine various sources, such as
books, journal articles, and other publications, to gain a comprehensive
understanding of the issue being studied. This aligns with Kothari's (2004)
assertion that qualitative research methods aim to uncover scientific truths
through systematic and planned data analysis.
C. Data
Collection
Data collection
in this research is conducted through several techniques, including document
analysis and theoretical review. Document analysis involves gathering
information from various written sources related to the research topic
(Sugiyono, 2012). Additionally, theoretical reviews are conducted to understand
the conceptual framework underpinning this study. The data collection process
aims to ensure that the information obtained is accurate and relevant to the
research questions. According to Alhamid and Anufia (2019), it is essential for
researchers to use credible sources to ensure the validity and accountability
of the research findings.
D. Data

The data analysis process involves summarizing information from various sources to draw meaningful conclusions. In this analysis, the researcher uses an inductive approach, where information is gathered from the field and then analyzed to identify specific patterns or themes (Moleong, 2007). This technique allows the researcher to develop new understanding based on the empirical data collected during the research process. Therefore, data analysis not only aims to answer research questions but also provides fresh insights into the studied phenomenon.
IV. DISCUSSION
AND RESULTS
A. Discussion
on the Use of Social Media in Innovative Learning
The use of
social media in innovative learning has become an increasingly relevant topic
in today's digital era. Social media offers significant potential to enrich the
learning experience and enhance student engagement. With the advancement of
information and communication technology, traditional teacher-centered learning
methods are shifting towards more interactive and participatory approaches. Platforms
like Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube allow students to become more actively
involved in the learning process, not just as recipients of information but
also as content creators.
One of the key
advantages of social media is accessibility. Students can access information
and learning resources from anywhere and at any time, as long as they are
connected to the internet. This flexibility enables them to learn in ways that
suit their individual needs. Furthermore, social media supports collaboration
among students. Through these platforms, students can interact in group
discussions or joint projects, which in turn enhances their understanding and
involvement in the subject matter (Lestari, 2022).
However,
challenges also arise with the use of social media. Issues of security and
privacy are major concerns, where teachers must ensure that students' personal
information is protected. Additionally, there are challenges related to
equitable access; not all students have the same access to devices and internet
connections (Febrianti et al., 2023). Therefore, it is crucial for educators to
plan the use of social media carefully to minimize these risks.
B. Results of
the Discussion on the Use of Social Media in Innovative Learning
The results of
the discussion reveal that the use of social media in innovative learning can
significantly enhance the quality of education when applied effectively.
Research indicates that social media usage can increase student interest in
learning, as well as their ability to use technology efficiently (Prasetya et
al., 2024). For example, through group-based learning on social media
platforms, students can discuss specific topics or group projects, which helps
them better understand the material.
Additionally,
the use of learning blogs on social media platforms also offers students the
opportunity to record their understanding of lessons and receive feedback from
both teachers and peers (Sari et al., 2018). In this way, students not only
learn from the material taught but also from the social interactions that occur
on the platform.
However, to fully maximize the benefits of social media in education, clear policies regarding digital ethics and teacher training on how to use social media effectively in the learning context are necessary (Kemdikbud, 2020). With the right approach, social media can become an invaluable tool in improving the quality of learning and preparing students to face the challenges of globalization.
